The Travon Walker Foundation continues to make a meaningful impact in its community, as seen during its 3rd Annual Turkey Drive on Saturday, November 16th. Held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Thomaston Housing Authority Administration Building in Thomaston, Georgia, the event exemplified the spirit of giving and togetherness.
This year’s Turkey Drive reached approximately 400 individuals across 222 households, providing Thanksgiving meals to families facing economic challenges. Attendees included residents from Drake Heights, Habitat Court, Lincoln Park Circle, and Triune Village, representing a diverse group of elderly, disabled, working, and non-working individuals.
The demographics underscored the importance of this initiative, with the majority of families served identifying as African American (70%) and the remainder as White (30%). In addition to food boxes, THRC, Inc. generously contributed 70 gift cards, ensuring that even more families could celebrate the holiday with a meal.
Travon Walker, the foundation’s founder, expressed his gratitude for the community’s support and the opportunity to give back:
