Travon Walker Foundation Hosts 4th Annual Free Youth Football Camp in Thomaston, Georgia

SHARE

THOMASTON, Ga. — The Travon Walker Foundation proudly hosted its 4th Annual Free Youth Football Camp on Saturday, May 9th at Matthews Field in Thomaston, Georgia, welcoming youth athletes, families, coaches, and supporters from across the community and beyond for a morning centered around football, mentorship, development, and impact. Built around the Foundation’s mission of “Be Where Your Feet Are. Train Like a Pro.” the camp provided athletes with a professional-level experience focused on skill development, discipline, teamwork, and personal growth both on and off the field.

“Be Where Your Feet Are’ means being fully present in every moment, giving your best effort, and taking advantage of every opportunity in front of you. Whether it’s football, school, family, or life, I want these kids to understand the importance of showing up, staying focused, and being intentional about where they are and where they want to go.”

Campers participated in skills and drills, position work, competition stations, and combine testing alongside coaches, trainers, volunteers, and special guests dedicated to investing in the next generation. The event also created opportunities for young athletes to build confidence, receive mentorship, and learn valuable lessons that extend far beyond football.

A major highlight of this year’s camp was the Foundation’s partnerships with H.E.A.D On Youth Impact and ZALA Academy, both of whom played a significant role in enhancing the camper experience. H.E.A.D On Youth Impact generously provided free cleats to campers, while ZALA Academy led on-field combine testing and verified performance metrics throughout the day.

In partnership with the Foundation, ZALA Academy is additionally providing every camper with a one-year subscription to the ZALA Academy app, giving athletes continued access to tools and resources designed to support their development beyond camp day.

The camp also partnered with the Khyree Jackson Foundation’s “Drive for Khy” initiative, brought to the event through community partners Sport for Impact, LaChica Sports, and Players Coalition, to help raise awareness around driver safety and responsible decision-making among young people while highlighting the power of athletes to positively influence their communities.

In honor of Mother’s Day weekend, Shanti Living provided wellness welcome gifts for mothers in attendance, helping create a thoughtful and family-centered experience for those supporting campers throughout the day.

The Travon Walker Foundation would also like to recognize the incredible coaches, volunteers, and community partners who helped bring this event to life, including UGA Players and Glory Glory, ZALA Academy, Pinnacle Trainers, the Upson-Lee Coaching Staff, and the many individuals who dedicated their time and energy to creating a memorable experience for every camper in attendance.

“One of the best camps we have attended! We have been to a bunch, and we will definitely be back next year. Thankful for this opportunity. Keep up the great work!”
